1. DELIVERY
We will deliver within our delivery areas, provided the conditions listed in Sales Confirmation Check list are met. Rain Again Tanks will contact you with a delivery date, allowing plenty of time to prepare.
2. SAFE ACCESS
Our truck and trailer combination is 19m long, 3.5m wide and 5m high. If you cannot accommodate a semi trailer to manoeuvre on your property, prior arrangements must be made for a ‘truck only’ delivery (10m long, 3.5m wide and 5m high). Before delivery you must check gates, roads, crossings, round-a-bouts, overhanging trees/power lines, wet ground and underground piping to ensure we can deliver the tank without damage. Provide safe access by ensuring that the area to unload the tank is level and clear of building material. It must be possible to roll the tank to the installation site without damaging the tank.
Safe access is to be provided to our drivers to manoeuvre and unload your tank/s. If the Rain Again Tanks truck arrives to deliver your tank and there is insufficient assistance or unsafe access to unload, the driver will leave the tank in the closest possible place.
3. ORGANISE ASSISTANCE
Our driver will need help to unload your tank from the truck, therefore, please have able-bodied people available to assist at time of delivery. Our driver will contact you with an estimated time of arrival, giving you time to organise helpers.
Drivers will not unload or transport the tank to the installation site if insufficient or unsafe access is provided. If assistance cannot be provided then hire or use of any equipment is at the purchaser’s expense i.e. crane hire, 4WD tractor, backhoe or front-end loader hire. Our drivers and service people are not permitted to work at heights so cannot assist in placing or servicing tanks on stands.

4. TANK FITTINGS
OVERFLOW – The tank input rate must equal the tank output rate i.e. 2 x 90mm inlet pipes must have 2 x 90mm overflow pipes. All overflows must be piped away from the tank separately and not combined into one overflow using a T-section. A breather on the overflow may be required under some circumstances. The position of the overflow must be on the flat wall surface of the tank and not overlapping a rib.
OUTLET/BALL VALVE – A 300mm flexible hose must be connected between the ball valve and all other rigid pipe work. (i.e. pump). Unsupported rigid pipe work puts extra strain on the fittings and tank wall.
If you are drilling your own outlet hole, the fitting must be installed a minimum of 100mm from the bottom of the tank to the bottom of the fitting. The hole saw sizes are; 48mm (1"), 73mm (2").
Please advise prior to the delivery if you need any extra fittings or valves so the driver can bring them. Purchase of all other plumbing fittings and pipes are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Rain Again Tanks accepts no responsibility for negligence or otherwise, for loss or damage to tanks installed by the customer, not withstanding that the customer has relied upon and followed the recommendations contained herein. These recommendations are a guide only and we do not warrant that the recommendations are accurate or suitable for use by any particular customer or for any particular tank sold.
5. SECURE YOUR TANK
When your tank arrives, you must put at least 25mm (1”) of water into the tank to weight it down or otherwise secure if from being blown away. You must use either webbing or rope to tie it down. Chains and cables should not be used. Rain Again Tanks takes no responsibility for tanks being damaged in this manner.
6. BASE PREPARATION
It is essential to have your tank on a FLAT AND LEVEL COMPACTED BASE. The base of your tank must be fully supported at all times. Suggestions are as follows:
Concrete Slab must be at least 25mpa and 100mm (4") thick with F62 mesh halfway through the mix and 100mm (4") wider than diameter of the tank. It should be screeded flat and level with no high or low spots and a troweled finish.
Crusher Dust bases must be 100mm (4”) thick and 300mm (12") wider than the diameter of tank and prepared as follows:
1. Remove at least 100mm (4") of natural earth; ensuring the base is flat and level.
2. Refill with at least 100mm (4") of crusher dust mixed with dry cement powder. (For a 4m (13") base we suggest 2-3 bags of cement powder).
3. Once spread, thoroughly compact the crusher dust with suitable compacting equipment, not by any other means.
4. Thoroughly screed the surface and ensure the finished surface is perfectly FLAT AND LEVEL and free of stones, tree roots etc. Do not add water to set the cement powder; natural moisture will do this when your tank is in position.
Note: Sand is not acceptable. INSPECT THE BASE REGULARLY checking for, and rectifying any undermining through water run-off or burrowing animals such as toads, mice etc.
Tank Stands must be designed in accordance with engineer’s specifications to hold the weight of a full tank (i.e. 1000 gallons water is about 4.5 tonnes). We recommend a hardwood timber decking, which is FLAT AND LEVEL, with boards spaced no wider than 10mm (1/2”) apart.
